Mounting methods.
Correct connection of the shutters with the wall is a condition for their safe functioning. Various variants of correct solutions are shown beside. You have to remember about it every time, that adequate space is required on the right and left to open the shutters, on the other hand, when closed, the wings should adhere as flat as possible to the wall surface, which makes it difficult to balance them.
Design principle, consisting in overlapping two frames with different widths of the sides, it is the same for all shutter sizes. External dimensions are adjusted to each window separately. Shutters can be adjacent to the frame of the window recess or fit into its recess.
1. Before assembling, the edges of the boards should be slightly rounded with sandpaper or router.
2. Screws and glue connect the shutter elements from the inside and outside. The screw holes must be drilled through and countersunk.
3. Waterproof glue should be applied in portions in the form of rollers and spread evenly with a brush. It is enough to cover only one of the parts to be glued with the adhesive.
4. Overlapping planks of different widths form a groove on the inner perimeter of the frame, and in the corners the boards overlap alternately.
5. For both sides of the panel made of thick plywood 10 mm are screwed on and glued to the 5-mm plywood panels.
6. The panels are fixed in the grooves of the frames with screws and quarter rounds cut in the miter box.
All wooden elements should be covered with a primer for wood protection and two layers of acrylic water-based varnish, resistant to weather conditions.
