Plantings on slopes in the home garden

Plantings on slopes in the home garden.

Escarpments are a fragment of the garden, which, on the one hand, introduces a lot of variety to the garden and the possibility of an interesting arrangement of space, but at the same time their development can be troublesome. If the slopes are gentle, we can set up a lawn on them. The trouble comes when they are too steep to comfortably mow the grass on them. – then the best solution seems to be to cover them with ground cover vegetation.

The arrangement of slopes in the home garden in Rzeszów presented by us can serve as an example of how to create an interesting and easy to maintain composition in a relatively inexpensive and simple way..
The basic element of plantings here are ground cover plants, which have been planted in different colours and target heights, small groups. There is a place for the lowest irgi Ursynów (ok. 30 cm in height), slightly higher intermediate juniper Gold star (ok. 50cm in height) and finally the highest mountain pine var. turn up (ok. 1 m in height). Ground cover plants planted densely enough to cover the slopes in a short time.
An additional element in the composition are columnar Hicksii yews and a small tree – red-leaved cherry plum Pissardi. These plants were introduced with this in mind, to diversify the composition vertically and introduce a strong color accent, which will add clarity to the whole.
