Thoroughly prepare the site before setting up a garden

Careful and thorough preparation of the site before setting up a garden will significantly facilitate its further care – it will be easier to mow the lawn, it will be easier to care for healthy and lush trees and shrubs. Very important is, so that the terrain is as even as possible, free of post-construction garbage and perennial weeds, properly dehydrated. The soil should be fertile and enriched with humus.

Choose plants that are easy to maintain

Avoid plants that are difficult to maintain, requiring many care treatments, sensitive to diseases and climatic conditions. The need for frequent watering, cutting plants, spraying, securing for winter significantly increases the amount of work in the garden. The easiest to maintain are conifers such as thuje, junipers, pine trees, larches, spruces, cis, some cypresses. Among deciduous shrubs and trees, it is worth choosing barberry, derenie, meadows, cinquefoils, too, jasmine trees, viburnum, bladders, bushes, karagany, catalpy, clones, book, birch trees, linden trees, oaks, decorative cherries, willow trees. Decorative grasses, eg. fescue, sprawl, daredevils and miscanthus and some perennials, e.g.. rudbekie, Echinacea, bells, funkie, or tawułki. If you want to have evergreen deciduous plants in your garden, use them in moderation and choose the most secluded places for them.
In the climatic conditions around Rzeszów, it is better to give up such plants as e.g.. Lawson and Japanese cypresses, laurels, holly, more sensitive varieties of palm maples, Rhododendrons, azaleas and pierises. Roses are also difficult to maintain (except ground cover roses) and hydrangeas.

Plant the right amount of plants

Planting plants at the right intervals from each other is very important, because it determines how often they will have to be formed. A common mistake when setting up a garden, is the introduction of too many plants, to fill the empty garden at the beginning. Later, when the plants begin to grow quickly, it turns out, that you have to devote a lot of work to their formation, so that they do not grow beyond measure.

The lawn should form a large homogeneous area

Small, narrow and difficult to mow lawns. Even quite a large lawn area can be mowed relatively quickly as long as it is provided, that it is flat and creates a larger area, devoid of numerous nooks and crannies. It is worth ensuring that the lawn has edges, on which you can drive with the mower wheel (np. edging made of cobblestones), So, it will not be necessary to use a trimmer to align the edges of the lawn.

Mulching the surface under the plants

The plants are best planted in groups that form compositions, and then the area occupied by plantings should be covered with agrotextile and pine bark, or chips, possibly gravel, or stone grit. Thanks to this, it will not be necessary to mow the grass between the plants, nor the frequent weeds of emerging weeds. Another advantage of this solution, is a fact, that the mulch provides the plants with a certain amount of nutrients, as well as maintains increased soil moisture, making plants less susceptible to drought. If we used pine bark for mulching, autumn raking of leaves can be dispensed with, because together with the bark they will decompose to form a humus layer.

Invest in an irrigation system

A garden irrigation system is a great convenience and convenience for the garden owner, because it works automatically and you don't have to waste a lot of time, to properly water your lawn and plants. At the same time, the irrigation system will water the garden at the most convenient time of the day and only then, when it is necessary.

Use fertilizers with prolonged action

The use of long-lasting fertilizers saves a lot of time, because in the case of trees and shrubs it is enough to fertilize once a season, and lawns twice. Long-term fertilizers such as. Osmocotes are admittedly more expensive than regular NPK fertilizers, but at the same time much more efficient and easier to use.

Let's give up the pond

A pond requires a lot of work to maintain it. If we do not pay enough attention to it, it will quickly cease to be an ornament, and will become an unattractive fairy tale, in which mosquitoes hatch.

Anti-mole net

If moles appear in the vicinity of our future garden, it is at the stage of setting up a lawn that it is worth thinking about setting up a net against moles. Thanks to the grid, moles will not destroy our lawn and you will not have to fight them.
