1. On sheets of ribbed cardboard we draw the contours of all the walls and the roof. Length notches and tenons must be marked very accurately 3 cm.
2. Using a ruler and a utility knife, we cut out all the parts. Be careful when cutting out the corners, because they are easy to tear.
3. We assemble our house for a test. If, just in case, we made the pins a little larger, than necessary, now we can trim them precisely. Wooden pins inserted into the pivot holes will improve the stiffness of the structure.
4. Door and shutter hinges are made as follows: the inner cardboard layer is cut into two, separated by 1 cm parallel sections. Leave the outer layer in its entirety. Then, with the help of a chisel, remove the cut strip with ribs.
5. We reinforce the hinges with paper adhesive tape, e.g.. painterly.
6. Corrugated cardboard should be cut to the size of roof slopes and shutters, and then spray the glue on them and stick to the structure with the entire surface.
7. Around the doors and windows, you can paint the wall using a self-made stencil, acrylic lacquer with a silky gloss and a round brush for filling patterns.

and about making window openings that are not too large. Ours have 35 x 35 cm.
Of course, that children can paint their own house to their own taste. Thanks to the easily washable paints, it can be fun. Six different colors are enough, that an ordinary cottage becomes a real villa.

If the ends of the cardboard are sharp, cover them with adhesive tape, because you can cut yourself on them.
