Edible dogwood – dogwood proper
shrub or tree, even several meters high. Ovate leaves, light green. It blooms in March and April before the leaves develop. Small flowers, yellow, gathered in spherical umbels, myotrophic. Stone fruit, carmine red, elongated, larger than barberry and less acidic, not very juicy, meets in August and September. Edible dogwood is quite common, but only up to 51 ° N.
