I've been living in my house since 1 September last year. A year and a half ago, there was plastering, so the plasters had time to dry.
In the summer, we made plaster in the bedroom. The bedroom is 3×4 m. Two months after living in, mold appeared on the walls. Initially, at the skirting boards, and later on the entire wall behind the wardrobe and in the corners of the ceiling.
There are no vents in the bedroom and there is a plastic window. In other rooms, there is no plaster and no mold. What could be the reason for this? The neighbor has exactly the same problem, despite the fact that it ventilates the whole house for half an hour every day and maintains a constant temperature 21 degrees around the clock. What to do with this?
Mold is a fungus, so walls attacked with it require, in the first place, decomposition with the use of chemical fungicides. Then you have to think about some kind of permanent ventilation system (e.g.. exhaust through the flue, air supply through the lower openings in the door). Gypsum is a hygroscopic material, and the bedroom with a room, where residents emit significant amounts of water vapor, that is, the idea with plasterboards and an airtight plastic window was not the best in this case.
