Gangrene of the bark of fruit trees – one of the most dangerous diseases of apple trees. Symptoms appear on the shoots and trunks of young trees. Infected tissue turns brown, dies and collapses. Extensive necrosis on branches and trunks can cause the death of individual branches or entire trees. In prevention, the lubrication of the cut wounds is decisive. The treatment, on the other hand, consists in cutting out the infected tissue to the healthy wood and lubricating the wound with a chemical preparation or white emulsion paint with the addition of 2% the correct preparation.. Heavily infested shoots are completely excised.
